Children's Better Education Foundation

The Children’s Better Education Foundation (CBEF) is a 501c3, not-for-profit organization serving North Palos School District 117 students. Comprised of students from Bridgeview, Hickory Hills, and Palos Hills, North Palos School District (NPD) 117 serves more than 2,000 families.

CBEF funds student programs that would not otherwise be available due to a lack of funding and state support. Mini-grants are awarded to teachers based upon a program’s creativity and the number of students who will benefit. Many of these programs enhance arts, technology, science, and literary enrichment.

CBEF was founded in 1991 by NPD 117 parents, school members, and community leaders who recognized that state and local funding could not provide all the programs their children needed to achieve a well-rounded education. Recognizing that limited state school funding did not allow schools to give students enough exposure to the arts, technology, science, and literature, CBEF raises money to help NPD 117 students stay competitive in these areas.
