Congratulations to the administration, faculty, staff and students at Conrady Junior High. Once again they received the prestigious recognition from ISBE for receiving the 2007 Academic Improvement Award for their performance on the ISATs.
This is the third year in a row that Conrady has been honored. They are one of only 29 schools in the state to be receiving this honor for the third time. The Illinois State Board of Education and Northern Illinois University work together each year to recognize Illinois Honor Roll recipients. To earn the Academic Improvement Award, a school must show an improvement of at least 7.5 points in state test scores in both reading and math.
It is our belief that education provides the best possible avenue for students to achieve satisfying lives and to be productive members of an interdependent society. We have brought together an outstanding group of teachers and support personnel whose dedication and commitment to our students and school is second to none. It remains our goal as a faculty to provide each student with a variety of educational experiences at the appropriate levels which will not only match their learning styles but will also establish a framework for each to reach their fullest potential.
We also understand that for us to reach this goal, that support from our parents and community remains an essential ingredient for success. Meetings will be held throughout the school year to discuss curriculum, current issues, teaching strategies/interventions, extracurricular programs and school policies. All parents and community members are encouraged to support these meetings (PTSA and School Advisory) by attending and expressing their viewpoints in a positive manner.
Working together with the community, we hope that each of our students will graduate with the necessary skills to be successful in their chosen paths.
