Dorn ISEL Home Activities
Each year, all Dorn students are assessed using the Illinois Snapshot of Early Learning (ISEL) Assessment. The ISEL assesses students’ early reading skills. This assessment is divided into sections called "Snapshots". Each snapshot assesses specific reading skills. The snapshots and skills assessed are as follows (suggestions for home reinforcement are listed under the Activities link at the left):

Target scores indicate a student is on grade level. Watch scores indicate a student is not on grade level. If your child has scores in the Watch category, these area(s) are concerns and need extra attention both at home and at school. Teachers use the ISEL data to plan lessons according to the needs of the students. If you have questions or concerns, please contact your child’s teacher.
