Welcome to Dorn Primary Center!   Each year, our halls are filled with the faces of students who are anxious to learn.  The staff at Dorn is dedicated to ensuring that each child acquires the knowledge and skills necessary to be successful.  Together, the teachers have created curriculum maps and assessments based on Illinois State Standards.  The teachers meet frequently to share ideas and discuss best practices in education.  However, we also recognize the NEED for a strong home/school connection.  We, as educators, need the help and support for our families to best meet the needs of our students.  Therefore, we work very hard to keep in constant communication with our families.  Please be sure to check your child’s backpack each night for important notes home.  Also, on our website, you will find teacher “Blogs” (Classroom News), PTA newsletters, parent resources, and monthly newsletters.  Research has proven time and again that one of the KEY components to success in school is an active partnership between home and school.  Please feel free to contact your child’s teacher whenever you have any questions or concerns.  You may also contact the Dorn Primary Center office.  Mrs. Snyder, School Secretary, Mrs. Carroll, School Secretary/Teacher Clerk, Mrs. Abdallah, Health Aide, or I would be happy to assist you.  We look forward to hearing from you, and we hope that you and your child enjoy the school year!
