About UsMy name is Ms. Michelle Naumann. This is my 17th year working in North Palos School District 117. I taught preschool at Sorrick School for nine years and this is my eigth year as a Reading Specialist at Dorn. I have a Bachelors degree in Early Childhood Education from the University of Illinois with a Special Education Approval, a Masters degree in Reading from Olivet Nazarene University, an ELL Endorsement from National Louis University and I am Wilson certified (an intensive reading program geared towards helping children and adults who are dyslexic). As you can see, I love to learn! My goal is to instill this love of learning into the hearts and minds of the students who I work with. I hope to build their confidence while teaching them strategies they can use to help them become independent readers and life-long learners.My name is Susan Bolda. This is my 17th year as a Reading Intervention Teacher at Dorn. I received my B.A. from Lewis University and my Type 10 Certification as a Reading Specialist from Olivet University. I am also certified in the Wilson Reading System, a program that delivers instruction by using multisensory techniques. My husband and I have a wonderful son named Jaxon.I am happy to share my love of reading with my family, as we all have discovered the excitement that wonderful literature can bring. I enjoy working with your child and providing literacy instruction to help them achieve success in reading. I look foward to helping your child develop good reading habits and a life long love of books.My name is Gail McDowall. I have been teaching in District 117 for many years. Most recently as a Dorn First Grade teacher. I have 3 teaching certificates, including Reading Specialist, as well as endorsements in Early Childhood Special Education and English as a Second Language. Reading has always been my passion and I am excited for the opportunity to help kids get excited about reading!I am Mrs. Julie McElligott. This is my fourteenth year in the North Palos School District! I taught kindergarten for ten years in this district, and worked as the Pre-K parent coordinator for two years. This will be my third year as a Reading Specialist.
I have completed a Master's degree in Reading, and I am anxious to share what I have learned about teaching our students to learn how to read. I have another Master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction, and a Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education. Teaching young children, and watching them grow as learners is such passion of mine. These years truly set the foundation for their life-long journey of learning!
When I am not teaching, I am like to spend time with my family and friends. My husband and I have three children, Conor (7), Maeve (3), and Molly (1). We also have a husky, Nali, who is nine years old. I love to bake, exercise, and shop during my free time.
