COFFEE WITH THE PRINCIPALS
We are excited to offer "Coffee with the Principals" sessions during the upcoming school year! Our goal is to provide families with an opportunity to join us for an informal conversation regarding our school and your child's education.
Please fill out the feedback form above if you would like to request a specific date, time, or topic for discussion.
We are excited to offer this program and look forward to collaborating with our Panther families!
Glen Oaks was last honored with this prestigious award in 2012. ONE of only 16 schools that qualified, Glen Oaks has been nominated as an Exemplary High Performing School.
Glen Oaks School received a designation of EXEMPLARY, which is the highest designation a school can receive. The designation means that Glen Oaks performed in the top 10 percent of all schools in the state and that there are no underperforming student groups at or below the “all students” groups in the lowest-performing 5 percent of all schools.
It is our great pleasure to welcome you (yes, both student and parent!) to our Panther family! We assure you that each and every staff member on the Glen Oaks team is a highly qualified and compassionate professional who is eager to meet your child. Your child will benefit from the instruction of not only their grade level teachers, but additional content specialists who all strive to provide your child with a well-rounded education.
Our systematic and collaborative approach to classroom instruction and intervention allows for each student to receive a learner-centered education that facilitates individual growth. members. Our Glen Oaks “Panther Professors” work in tandem with families, children, and community members to foster a learning environment in which students’ intellectual, social, and emotional development are interconnected and integrated into activities across the rigorous curriculum. Our team takes great pride in fostering a strong sense of community and teamwork through the relationships that have been developed with all of our stakeholders.
At Glen Oaks School, we follow the PBIS system, which stands for Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports. The goal of this program is to teach students expected behaviors as they follow school expectations, and to reinforce and reward positive behaviors. The expectations reinforced by all Glen Oaks staff are Be Respectful, Be Caring, Be Safe, and Be Here and Ready.
Glen Oaks School utilizes email and text messaging as a main source of communication. One major mode of communication we use is our weekly FAMILY FOCUS EMAIL. To ensure you receive all of our communications, please make sure your phone number and email address are up to date with the school office. Additionally, we utilize our website (www.npd117.net/glenoaks) and Twitter (@GlenOaksNPD117) for communication purposes. Please check these sources regularly for up-to-date information and to learn more about the exciting things going on at Glen Oaks School. We look forward to working together to strengthen our professional learning community relationship!
