Bridget is "Golden" in Winning Top Teaching Award


The Illinois State Board of Education announced that Bridget Golden is a recipient of the coveted Award of Excellence in the 2019-2020 THOSE WHO EXCEL education awards program.

Miss Golden teaches a self-contained special education class at Sorrick School where she is loved and respected by her students and peers alike. Among her peers who wrote nominating letters they agreed: “Miss Golden brings passion, creativity and high expectations for her students and is patient, adaptive and well-versed in reaching a diverse group of students.”

Bridget holds herself to the highest of professional standards and can often be found late at night in her classroom preparing engaging and innovative learning experiences for her students. Miss Golden is a valued team member who is highly respected by her colleagues for her student-centered vision and focus on solutions.

The State Board annually bestows three levels of recognition at its awards dinner: The Award of Excellence; the Award of Merit and the Award of Recognition. Miss Golden received the highest award.

Miss Golden will be honored at the Illinois State Board of Education’s annual dinner on October 19 at the Bloomington-Normal Marriott Hotel and Conference Center.
