Diane Padilla Named to New Position of Grants Manager

Diane Padilla was named to the newly created position of grants manager in North Palos District 117.

In her new role, Mrs. Padilla will work closely with and support several departments to manage the grant process from application to implementation to reporting. Grant money the district receives helps provide resources and other funding to assist students achieve at their highest levels. She previously  worked as a secretary at both Conrady Junior High School and - most recently - at the district office.

Mrs. Padilla said she is excited about the new challenge. 

"I'm looking forward to something new, something different," she said. "It is going to be a challenge and I like that."

Mrs. Padilla said her background working in a mortgage company for 15 years will help her in the new position. 

She started in the district as a PTA volunteer at Sorrick School when her kids were younger.  She and husband Juan have three children: Carlos, 17; Ivan, 14 and Sofia, 11. 

Mrs. Padilla said she and Juan are heavily involved in supporting their kids' sports activities, including football, baseball, softball and volleyball. 

The couple have resided in Palos Hills for 10 years.
