Governor Delays Schools Opening; Meals Still Available

March 20, 2020

Dear NPD117 Families,

Thank you for your patience as things continue to evolve.  As you may have heard, Governor Pritzker announced this afternoon that schools will remain closed through April 7. We will continue to update you as we receive new information from the state including guidance on when the district can implement its e-learning plan.

MEAL DISTRIBUTION WILL CONTINUE.  PLEASE SEE SCHEDULE BELOW:

March 23, 2020:  Two breakfast and two lunch meals will be distributed per child

March 24, 2020:  No meals will be distributed

March 25, 2020:  Three breakfast and three lunch meals will be distributed per child

March 26-March 28, 2020:  No meals will be distributed

Please call 708-233-4514 to speak with Food Services with questions or concerns including the inability to pick up meals at these times and we will attempt to make other arrangements.

Meal Service:  Meals are available at no cost to all children 18 and under. Meal packets can be picked up between 10:00 AM and 12:00 PM on Monday, March 23, 2020 and Wednesday, March 25, 2020. Enter through the north entrance on Roberts Road and follow the traffic cones to proceed to door 8 to receive meals.  Remain in your vehicle, provide us the number of children, and meals will be brought to you. Children do NOT need to be in the vehicle to receive meals.

You are in our thoughts.

Stay safe,

Jeannie Stachowiak

Superintendent
