Home Internet Support for Families


To help support learning at home, NPD117 recommends families to take advantage of these opportunities when it comes to securing at home internet access.

Option #1 - Internet Essentials from Comcast

 

The Internet Essentials program from Comcast provides low cost home internet access for $9.95/month. There is also the ability to sign up for Internet Essentials and enroll in the Affordable Connectivity Program listed above to get internet service completely free.

Am I eligible for Internet Essentials?

You may qualify if you:

 

  • Live in an area where Xfinity Internet service is available
  • Qualify for programs like the National School Lunch Program, housing assistance, Medicaid, SNAP, and others, or are enrolled or enrolling in the Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP) with Xfinity
  • Have not had Xfinity Internet within the last 90 days (unless enrolled in ACP with Xfinity)*
  • Have no outstanding debt to Xfinity that is less than one year old (unless enrolled in ACP with Xfinity)*

Option #2 - Project 10Million from T-Mobile

 

Project 10Million’s Direct to Parent/Guardian program provides internet access to eligible families that have a student who meets the eligibility criteria. Approved families receive 100GB of mobile data per year for 5 years and a FREE mobile hotspot, plus the opportunity to purchase additional Wi-Fi devices at a low cost.
 
  • New and existing T-Mobile (including Metro by T-Mobile and Assurance) as well as Non-T-Mobile customers are eligible to apply.
  • Available to residents of the United States and Puerto Rico. Not currently available in the US Virgin Islands.
  • One free T-Mobile hotspot device and 100GB/year data line per household, max one per student.
  • Data service ends when allotment is reached until the yearly renewal date (additional data passes are available for purchase).
  • May purchase up to five select, at-cost Wi-Fi-only tablets and laptops for use with the hotspot device.
